Indoor Air

Fungal growth, bacteria, and mold
spores are present everywhere. There is no practical way
to eliminate all mold or mold spores in indoor air. Even
a small water intrusion problem can turn into a large fungal
growth problem. When does fungal growth go from being
simply a nuisance to being a full-fledged problem? Mold growth is far from the only indoor air
quality concern. A sick building can negatively effect employee
health and productivity. HVAC system evaluations can identify
concerns and mitigate employee fears. If, however, your Indoor Air Quality
issue becomes a litigation issue, you can rest easy,
knowing that Air Quality Services, Inc.
is on your side to provide expert testimony, explaining difficult
environmental concepts in simple terms. |
Indoor Air Quality
Assessments - Biological Air and Surface
Contaminant Sampling
Do you have reason to suspect high
concentrations of fungal growth in the air or on surfaces in your
facility? AQS technicians use state of the art techniques to
collect samples for laboratory analysis for fungal growth. We can
collect surface dust samples, bulk samples, swab samples or tape
lift samples to identify fungal growth on surfaces within your
building. If you are concerned about airborne contaminants, we
can collect spore trap or BioCassette TM samples to compare interior concentrations with
exterior concentrations.
Leaking or broken
pipes, high humidity, ice dams, and water seepage are common
sources of water damage, and can provide the necessary
moisture to encourage fungal growth. AQS
consultants are experts in identification of moisture sources and
water damage. We can provide recommendations for engineering
controls to stop your water problem at the source, and prevent
additional water problems and water damage.
Do your employees or your family members
complain of acute discomfort from headaches, eye, nose,
or throat irritation, dry cough, dry or itchy skin, dizziness and
nausea, difficulty in concentrating, fatigue, or sensitivity
to odors? These are all common complaints associated with Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). AQS has experts
who can diagnose whether or not your building is causing these
symptoms, and we can provide you with a prescription for a
cure.
The air you breathe passes through the
heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system of your
home or facility. Have you looked inside? Would you know what you
were seeing, and how it is effecting the health of those who pass
through your door? We can inspect your HVAC system for you, and we
have the specialized knowledge to assess if there are problems
which need to be addressed. We acn give you recommendations on
how to address problems as they are identified.
Your staff is an invaluable resource for
identifying air quality issues in your facility. Our friendly and
courteous staff will interview your empoyees to identify red flags
such as musty or pungent odors, observed mold, and water damaged
building materials which are often the first clues that an air
quality problem exists.
Moisture seepage and leaking or weeping pipes
can damage building materials, in addition to enabling mold and
fungal growth. Without drilling holes into your wall to see what is
in the wall cavity, can you tell if there is moisture damaging your
sheetrock? AQS technicians apply the most up to date
methods for measuring moisture content in building materials. We
can help you identify a problem, before it becomes a
problem.
Mycotoxins and endotoxins
are byproducts of fungal growth that may be harmful or potentially
fatal. AQS technicians are specially trained to sample surfaces for
the presence of these toxins.
Sewage line breaks happen. AQS experts can
walk you through every step of the clean up process, from
identifying what surfaces need to be cleaned, through remediation,
to final sampling required for reoccupation of contaminated
areas.
The air quality
experts who work for AQS are just that... experts. With almost
a quarter century of experience, we possess the expertise
you need, and the ability to explain it in terms that you can
understand.
