  Of course, paint is not the only potential source of lead exposure to you and your family. Increasingly in recent years, lead contaminated soils have been identified in residential areas. • Lead Screening in Toys
  
  Lead may be used in two aspects of toy manufacturing: Paint and Plastic. While banned in the United States in 1978, it is still widely used in other countries and can be found on imported toys.The use of lead in plastics has not been banned. It softens plastics.
  
  AQS can test toys for lead content in both the paint and the plastic. Small-scale testing is cost prohibitive and expensive, but with sufficient notice AQS can conduct large scale (company or organization wide) screening for lead in toys.
